Our Chalet, holiday house, cottage in Austria lies in the Gasteinertal valley in
Salzburgerland. We bought the Chalet, holiday house, cottage in the Gasteinertal
in 2005. The Chalet, holiday house, Cottage lies in Harbach part of Bad
Hofgastein. The location is near Bad Hofgastein and Dorfgastein. The ski bus
stops at 50 meters and brings you in a few minutes to Bath Hofgastein or
Dorfgastein. In Bad Hofgastein you can connect to the ski area of Bad Gastein,
Sportgastein also called Sport Gastein. Our Chalet, holiday house, cottage in
Austria is one of the most beautiful Chalets, holiday houses, cottages in
Salzburgerland in Austria.
In the direct surroundings of our Chalet, holiday house, cottage in Austria there are a lot of sport activities. In the past centuries the Gasteinertal valley in Salzburgerland has become a well known place for spending your holiday in Austria. Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein are well known for their spa baths (thermal baths) and these place grew as wellness centre before winter sports where invented. There are classic Hotels, old Guesthouses and there is even an Casino. Therefore Bad Gastein is sometimes called the Monte Carlo of Austria. Though part of this old glory is in decay, the last couple of years there is a lot of investment to preserve these unique and chique Hotels with pre-war details. Unfortunately the porters and elevator boys in red hotel uniform from the past will no longer be found.
In Short
The Harbachmühle (90 m2) was originally one of the 143
water mills with which the inhabitants of the Gasteinertal ground their flour.
Now it has been furnished as a cosy holiday home with a wood-burning stove where
you can comfortably warm yourself after a strenuous holiday day. The
Harbachmühle is located in one of the sunniest places in the Gasteinertal,
exactly between Dorfgastein and Bad Hofgastein in the spa of Harbach.
Area
The Gasteinertal has wide 200 km slopes, 90 km tracks and 100 km winter walking
routes. As an advanced skier, you can take your pick of the mainly red slopes.
But for the beginning winter sportsman, off-piste and tour skiers too can take
their choice. The Harbachmühle is an ideal starting point for skiing and
snowboarding. With the ski bus stop only 50 m away, you can be in Dorfgastein in
a few minutes and even go to Grossarl or catch the ski train to Bad Hofgastein.
Spa and Thermal Baths
Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein are known for their spa baths (thermal baths).
The thermal baths were built a long time ago (ca. 1500) in the rocks, called
Felsentherme. Today these are swimming resorts. Several relaxation baths of more
than 30 degrees give you complete rest.
Summer Holliday
In the summer the Alps offer a wide range of possibilities; superb walks through
the green valleys along the river, cycling, tennis, golf, go into the mountains with the cable car, paragliding, horse riding, rafting and
mountain biking.
In short, a holiday in an authentic water mill in the glorious Gasteinertal, you
really can’t afford to miss it!
